Guys and Dolls

Directed by David Lawver

This romantic comedy is the tale of two sets of lovers. Nathan Detroit, in an effort to raise funds for his traveling craps game, bets high-roller "Sky" Masterson he cannot get a certain doll to Havana, Cuba. Sky woos the "uptight, forthright, square" Sarah Brown, who is in the business of reforming sinners like Sky and Nathan . The two prove that opposites do, in fact, attract. Meanwhile, Adelaide, a nightclub performer, believes her chronic illness is brought on by the fact that she and Nathan have been engaged for 14 years. The funny gangsters, dancers and other Damon Runyon characters combine with the well-known Frank Loesser ("Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat," "Luck Be a Lady," etc.) score to create a show that has been an audience favorite for years.
