Oasis Theater Ensemble
Oasis Theater Ensemble has been dormant since 2016.
Oasis Theater Ensemble was founded in 2007 to provide opportunities for actors and audiences to come together in celebration of quality historical and modern classical theater productions in Central Wisconsin. Our ensemble of veteran actors and directors was dedicated to presenting quality theatrical literature that challenges the mind, touches the heart, and tickles the sense of humor.
We were excited and encouraged by our audience's response to our first four years. We presented six shows encompassing classical comedies and dramas, including Molière's French farce, "Tartuffe" (August, 2007), followed by Tennessee William's masterpiece, "The Glass Menagerie" (January, 2008). Our second season featured Noel Coward's classic comedy, "Blithe Spirit" (August, 2008) and Robert Harling's comedy-drama "Steel Magnolias" (January 2009). Our third season began with Arthur Miller's Tony award winning drama, "The Crucible" (September 2009) and finished with the intense drama "Picnic" by William Inge (April 2010).
Our 2010 - 2011 season began at Wausau East High School (our temporary venue) while the UWMC Theater was closed. We presented John Patrick's classic heart-warming comedy, "The Curious Savage" (October 2010). This spring we produced two ancient Greek plays which we set in more contemporary settings. "Lysistrata" and "The Trojan Women", a combination of classic Greek Tragedy and Comedy were presented as "Its Greek To Me" (April 2011).
