The final chapter of Shakespeare’s Henry IV plays, King Henry V portrays Prince Hal as having grown up at long last to become one of Britain’s greatest leaders. Though it’s been years since Prince Hal – now King Henry V – spent his days at the tavern in the company of petty thieves, his life remains complicated. After being insulted by the Dauphin, King Henry goes to war to stake his rightful claim to the French throne. But as it becomes more and more evident that the British troops are outnumbered, a King ruminates on his past and present, and the responsibilities thrust upon him by the passing of time.
