UW-Milwaukee Theatre

Theatre at UWM challenges every student to undergo a personal metamorphosis and access the talent within, becoming an artist who can dream, imagine, and engage the world. UWM provides an environment and course of study that can bring about a sea-change so a growing artist may discover personal truth.

UWM is set in the state’s largest theatrical community. Urban learning allows students to participate in a thriving professional theatre environment. Not only do UWM students engage in theatre on campus, they also learn in the theatres throughout town. Milwaukee boasts over 25 professional companies such as Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Skylight Opera Theatre, Chamber Theatre, Renaissance Theatreworks, Next Act, and First Stage Children’s Theatre. Unique to the UW campus, this setting gives immediate access to theatre specialists who teach, mentor, and hire UWM students.
