Oriphice
By Matthew Grzybowski
Directed by Tracy Grzybowski
Written by Madison's very own New-York produced playwright Matthew Grzybowski, and directed by Tracy Grzybowski, "Oriphice" is what would have happened if Monty Python had taken on Ancient Greece. "Oriphice" follows the quest of Hubris, a middle-aged farmer who, after many years of marriage, has decided that he wants to have an affair. But, not just with any ordinary Grecian woman. No, the town's very own Sagitets or the vestal virgins simply will not do. Hubris wishes to have an affair with the PERFECT woman. But how will he find her? Hubris and his loyal friend Stanities concoct a scheme to see the great Oracle of Delphi, who will be able to give Hubris the answers he is looking for. Little do they know that Raiders, hydras, minotaurs, guards, Anesthesians and one very dark labyrinth await them!
