Calls for Submissions
Call for submissions: Forward Theater Company's Wisconsin Wrights New Play Festival
Forward Theater's 2025-2026 season will feature our Wisconsin Wrights New Play Festival.
Our official call for submissions of new, unproduced plays by Wisconsin-based writers will go live at the beginning of August and run through October 1, 2025. Keep an eye on the Submissions page of our website for information and guidelines: forwardtheater.com/submissions
Wisconsin Wrights is an investment in new works that awards Wisconsin playwrights the rare opportunity to develop their plays in a professional public arena. Up to three full-length plays will be chosen to receive a week-long workshop and rehearsal process with professional directors and actors. Workshops will culminate in a three-day public reading series, giving writers early audiences and audiences the chance to hear and reflect on plays in process. This coming season's slate of readings will run in May 2026.
