Yours, Anne: The Story of Anne Frank
By Enid Futterman and Michael Cohen
Directed by Meghan Randolph, Music Directed by Christopher Powers
1947 marked the first appearance of Anne Frank: The Diary of A Young Girl. Since then, her chronicle of life hiding from the Nazis from 1942-1944 has been translated into 67 languages. Next to the bible, it is the most widely read nonfiction book in the world. This beautiful tale adds music to the story, enhancing the frustration, sadness and terror as well as the love and joy Anne experienced toward the end of her life.
With the musical Yours, Anne, MTM invites audiences to learn about Anne Frank, what happened after her family was discovered, and the historical significance her story. We are also encouraging a discussion amongst audiences regarding the dramatization of Anne's story, the ways in which her story has been told, and the ways in which it has been manipulated.
Featuring talkbacks with the librettist and local published Anne Frank scholar Rachel Brenner as well as the cast.
