University of the Heart: An Unromantic Comedy
By Greg Lawless
Directed by Jan Levine Thal
Ever go to a play and wish you could influence the playwright to rewrite it? Here’s your chance!
Sunday, December 9 at 3:30 the Phi Beta Fraternity and Playwrights Ink present a joint project: the first public reading of Greg Lawless original play University of the Heart: An Unromantic Comedy. A hilarious romp through bio-terrorism, love, infidelity, campus politics, and language barriers, Lawless’ play brings the vials and vicissitudes of today’s university to life – though no life was ever quite like this.
The play, directed by Jan Levine Thal, will be presented as a reading followed by audience feedback, with the aim of mounting a full production in the future. The reading, directed by Jan Levine Thal, boasts a stellar cast including veterans of many local theater companies: Siobhán Edge, Nathan Figueroa, Callen Harty, Joseph Lutz, Andrew Osen, Mary-Elizabeth Pasquesi, Virginia Rose, and Sarah Whelan.
