Twilight of the Golds

When Suzanne Stein has a genetic analysis done on her unborn child, she discovers that although she has a healthy baby, the child will most likely be born gay, like her brother, David. She must decide whether to keep the child, or to have an abortion. Her family enters a crisis about love and acceptance as she makes this difficult choice.

Auditions will be held on the following days:

10/11/2017StageQ, Inc. will hold auditions for Twilight of the Golds, by Jonathan Tolins on Monday and Tuesday, October 9th and 10th at 6:30pm. Auditions will be at the StageQ Rehearsal Space in the Porchlight building, 306 N. Brooks St., downtown Madison. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, October 11th at 6:30pm at the same location. Auditioners will read sides from the script. The first read-through will be on Monday, October 16th.
Roles
DAVID GOLD: 20’s to 30’s. He is charming, sensitive, gay, and an aspiring set designer. He is also a fervent Wagner fan.
SUZANNE GOLD-STEIN: 30’s. David's sister. She is very bright and feels as if she never lived up to her own potential. She works as a buyer for Bloomingdale's department store.
ROB STEIN: 30’s, Suzanne's husband. He is a genetic researcher. He still feels like an outsider in his wife's family.
PHYLLIS GOLD: 50’s. David and Suzanne's mother. An elegant Jewish woman, she is smarter than she might appear. She perpetually worries about her children.
WALTER GOLD: 50’s/Jewish.. David and Suzanne's father. An uptight New York businessman, he is sometimes gruff but more sensitive than he often appears.
