Orphaned in India, 11 year old Mary Lennox return to Yorkshire to live with her reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The estate's many wonders includes a magical garden, which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the "Dreamers," spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life.

11/26/2012ECCT will hold auditions for THE SECRET GARDEN on Sunday, November 25, and Monday, November 26, at 7 p.m. at ECCT, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire.
Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The estate’s many wonders include a magical garden, which beckons to the children. The winner of three Tony Awards, THE SECRET GARDEN is based on the classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
With the exception of non-singing females interested in the role of Mrs. Medlock, all performers should prepare a 1-minute cutting from any Broadway song. An accompanist will be provided. There is no dance audition, but those auditioning may be asked to read from the script. Roles are available for one girl ages 10-13 to play 11-year-old Mary Lennox, one boy ages 8-12 with an unchanged voice to play Colin Craven; one adult female to play the non-singing role of Mrs. Medlock the housekeeper, six males and five females ages high school to adult to play the roles or Archibald and Dr. Craven, Rose, Lily, Ben, Martha, Dickon, and a small chorus of Dreamers and featured roles.
Performances are planned for January 31 – February 3 at the State Theatre.
