The Nutcracker
Directed by Coleen Kehl
Brilliant costumes, staging and choreography tell the story of a Christmas Eve party in the Victorian home of Clara who is visited by her magical Uncle Drosselmeyer bringing dancing dolls, gifts for all the children and a Nutcracker. Clara falls asleep dreaming of her beloved Nutcracker when mice steal the presents from under the tree led by the wicked Mouse Queen. Toy soldiers under the command of the Prince defend the frightened Clara. The Snow Queen summons Clara and her Prince to the Land of Snow and Sweets. The Christmas Angels tell the Sugar Plum Fairy of her arrival and she is appointed Princess. Clara is entertained by dancing dolls from all parts of the world. Clara and her Prince are transported back home in a sleigh.
