The musical tells the tale of an unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th century London seeking revenge against the lecherous judge who framed him and stole his life. The show is macabre, visceral and uncompromising but nevertheless fun with a mixing of intense drama with funny moments of dark humor. Audiences will find themselves laughing one moment and gasping in surprise the next.

Auditions will be held on the following days:

MONDAY, March 18 OR TUESDAY, March 19
@ 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm
Callbacks:
SATURDAY, March 23 @ 12 - 5 pm (or as needed)

All roles, including Ensemble, require not only excellent singers – but captivating storytellers as well.
Prepare 16-32 bars in the style of the show, and bring sheet music in the correct key.
Singing from the show is not necessary, but absolutely welcome. Stephen Sondheim’s score is the foundation of the show so please make sure you are best representing yourself with a song that shows your full potential. Bring your book, as song options are always a good idea. If you can, please bring a picture and resume stapled together, as well as your personal calendar to access any and all possible conflicts over the course of the rehearsal process. Please try and familiarize yourself with the show and role you’re coming in for as much as possible prior to the Audition. There will be no dancing/movement at the initial Audition – only at Callbacks.
