Twelve superheroes in their everyday guises hold a telethon to raise money for a production of The Tempest. The complex natures of heroism and villainy are comically explored through overlapping dialogue, unrequited love, and empathy for the everyperson in this literate, funny, moving play by Chicago playwright Mickle Maher. Produced by the folks who brought you Beta Blockers in February, the play will be performed, barnstormer style, at The Goodman Community Center in Madison, Firefly Coffee House in Oregon, Watertower Chop House in Sun Prairie, I'm Board Game Store in Middleton, and Tapit/New Works in Madison. Auditions will be held on the following days:

Auditions are April 27 and 28, 6:30 pm, at First Baptist Church, 518 Franklin Ave, Madison.

Auditioners should email one of the directors to sign up for the audition:

The directors will cast 6 women and 5 men of various ages and types. One role has been precast. Please prepare a short (1 minute or less) monologue from Shakespeare. You may memorize it or read it. Auditioners will also read from the script, which is about 10% Shakespearean, the rest is contemporary language. For further information, please consult leftofleftcenter.com or our Facebook page.
