Shakespeare's Henry IV (Part 1)
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Richard and Anne DiPrima
One famous scholar has called Shakespeare’s Henry IV plays “the most diverse, entertaining, and profound accomplishment by Shakespeare or any other playwright … in the rendering of history.” Henry IV (Pt. 1) continues the story where it leaves off at the end of King Richard II (our first summer play this year). Including brilliant characters like Hotspur, Prince Hal, and Falstaff and his friends, this play ranges from the courts of the king to the battlefields to the tavern! We have done Henry IV (Pt. 1) twice before, in 2001 and 2005. No Shakespeare masterpiece we have ever performed has been more loved by the actors in it!!
Performances of Henry IV (Pt. 1) are as follows: August 15 - 23 at 6 pm, and August 17 & 23 at 11 am, and August 24 at 1 pm. Come often! Performances are free and young people are encouraged to attend!
