7pm readingWhat do you get if you grow a hybrid of Trip to Bountiful and ‘Night Mother, and use a lot of farce-pollen? Second Blessing, where Collette Nachreiner returns to her childhood home, drunken lover in tow, because she’s concerned about her mother. Georgia Nachreiner has hooked up with some young folks from a local Pentecostal church, and claims the neighbors down the road are running a “mega-amphetamine” lab. There’s good reason to worry in this play, but almost no one is worried about the right thing.
