School of Rock

By Based on the Paramount Movie by Mike White

Directed by Amy Friedl

Based on the hit movie with Jack Black, this show follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? Tickets available at bdact.org or through the Box Office, 920-885-6891

Auditions

Auditions will be held on the following days:

5/19/2025
5/20/2025

Any current middle school student (grades 6-8) is invited to audition for this summer’s production of School of Rock. Students will check in at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre lobby with our Producers before their audition time. When prompted, students will individually audition with 1-2 minutes of any prepared song of their choice and their prepared read from the link provided. They will then wait back in the lobby until their whole group is prepared to return and work through a bit of taught choreography.
