Run For Your Wife
Comedy by Ray Cooney
Directed by James Gallager
If you enjoy crazy farce, you will love, "Run for Your Wife"!
John Smith may seem like an ordinary taxi driver, but he has been keeping a big secret. You see...John had a problem...he is so afraid of hurting someone's feeling, that he can't seem to say no. This became a particular problem when instead of saying, "I don't," he said, "I do,"...twice...to Mary and to Barbara...at the SAME TIME! John finds himself in a juggling match as he spends part of his day with his loving wife, Mary, in a flat in Wimbledon, and the other part of his day with his OTHER loving wife, Barbara, in a different flat only four minutes away.
When he heroically attempts to save an old woman from two muggers, he gets bashed by her handbag and receives attention, not just from the hospital, but from the police. When two different detectives begin asking too many questions, John must rush back and forth between his two wives, trying to untangle the marital mess he has made. To add insult to injury, John's unemployed, moronic friend Stanley Gardner tries to aid in the deception, leading to even more hi-jinks when the police detective mistakes Stanley to be John's boyfriend. This rip-roaring farce will leave audiences rolling in the aisles, while also reminding couples that tending to the needs of one spouse really isn't so demanding after all!
