Run For Your Wife
By Ray Cooney
Directed by Heidi Salter
This superb example of the British farce will have audiences rolling in the aisles in Germantown! A taxi driver, John Smith, gets away with having two wives in different areas of London because of his irregular working schedule. His wife Mary, in Wimbledon, is the happy homemaker. His wife Barbara, in Streatham, is always trying to get John into bed. Trouble brews when John is mugged and ends up in hospital, where both of his addresses surface, causing both the Streatham and Wimbledon police to investigate. Having upset his schedule, John becomes hopelessly entangled in his attempts to explain himself to his wives and two suspicious police officers. To make matters worse, John's unemployed, moronic friend Stanley Gardner tries to help in the deception, but that simply leads to more hi-jinks when one of the police detectives believes that John and Stanley are gay. Complication is piled upon complication as the cabby tries to keep his double life from exploding.
