On March 7, the lesbian musical PULP by Patricia Kane makes its Madison premiere. PULP is an affectionate parody of the lurid lesbian fiction of the 1950s. Departing from the obligatory tragic endings of '50s lesbian pulp fiction, Kane not only happily pairs off three sets of lovers by the end of PULP, but also has immense good fun with the punchy style of the genre, and the lure of lesbian bars, drag kings, and the appeal of Barbara Stanwyck.

Audition Notice

Auditions will be held on Monday and Wednesday, December 10 and 12, 2007.

Auditions are at 7:00 pm. They will take place at 148 E Wilson Street, first floor, in Madison. Appointments may be arranged for a different date.

Actors will read from the script, and should also prepare one verse of a show tune (suggested composers: Cole Porter, George Gershwin.) Please bring your sheet music with you for the accompanist. Wear clothes to move in. Copies of the script are available via email upon request to pulp@stageq.com.   

Roles are available for 5 or 6 women, ages 30 – 55. All roles involve singing.

Rehearsals will begin in late December.
