Picasso at the Lapin Agile
By Steve Martin
Directed by Jim Burtchart
Steve Martin's hilarious comedy "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" is set in a Parisian bar where great minds meet to contemplate theories, debate the future, shape the avant-garde movement and of course pick up women. Time boundaries are transcended as young Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, and Charles Dabernow Schmendiman challenge each other's works. When an iconic American singer from the future arrives at the bar, the men are forced to search for their meaning in the universe, and question who will leave a greater mark on history. Audiences are sure to enjoy comedic banter, eccentric antics and hip-swiveling action in this irresistible play that begins one year before Einstein publishes the Special Theory of Relativity, and three years prior to Picasso's masterpiece, "Les Demoiselles D'Avignon."
