Miss Julie
By August Strindberg
Directed by Aliza Feder
Miss Julie is one of Strindberg's early, "Naturalistic" plays. Set against the backdrop of the Midsummer Eve holiday, the drama explores the intersection of class, power and sex. There are three speaking parts - Miss Julie, daughter of a nobleman (age 18-26), Jean, the valet (age 30-40) and the cook, Kristin (age 3-40). There are non-speaking roles (as peasants and other servants) for all ages.
