Milwaukee Fringe Festival

Milwaukee Fringe Festival, the region’s newest city-wide art festival is a two-day performance and visual art event celebrating Milwaukee’s vibrant and diverse arts scene. The inaugural event will take place Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 in downtown Milwaukee at Pere Marquette Park, The Marcus Center’s Wilson Theater at Vogal Hall and Todd Wehr Theater and surrounding venues.

The Milwaukee Fringe Festival will showcase more than 50 live acts from theater, music, dance and visual art from the Greater Milwaukee area. Notable theater acts participating are Renaissance Theatreworks, Bronzville Arts Ensemble and Theatre Gigante. Dance groups presenting shows include Catey Ott Dance Collective, Radermacher Dance and Hyperlocal, among many others. The festival will also feature a music performance from Nineteen Thirteen, and a music lineup of over 20 local bands, to be announced in later this June.

The event will provide an opportunity for emerging artists to be discovered while strengthening the fabric of Milwaukee’s arts community. Festival creative director John Schneider describes the festival as “A collaborative, interactive, inter-generational, multidisciplinary performance exhibition meant to thank the people of Milwaukee for sustaining an environment in which the arts are genuinely valued and great work is possible.”

The event will feature free outdoor performances in Pere Marquette Park and along the Milwaukee River, as well as ticketed indoor performances at the Marcus Center’s Vogel Hall and Todd Weir Theatre. The event will also feature some of the Milwaukee’s most popular food trucks and a beer garden provided by Old German Beer Hall.
