Lounging Around
By Siobhan Edge
Directed by Ben Doran
You’re about to get on your flight and suddenly an announcement is made, “Ladies and Gentlemen, flight 1698 has been delayed.” You try to relax, you fret about connections, you listen to the lady next to you babbling about something, you watch security personnel freaking out, you hear an announcement about a further delay . . . now you want to blow up the airport.
Broom Street Theater presents "Lounging Around", a new comedy about an assortment of airline travelers who are increasingly delayed by circumstances beyond their control. Patience, caffeine tolerance, and other coping skills are stretched thin while the passengers wait for their flights. The conversations are quick, biting, and occasionally quite suggestive. This comedy, presented by first-time Broom Street playwright Siobhan Edge and director Ben Doran, takes to the Broom Street runway on Friday, June 19.
“Lounging Around” runs from Friday, June 19 through Sunday, July 26 at Broom Street Theater, 1119 Williamson Street. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. Tickets for the evening performances are $9 and for the Sunday matinees $6.
