Lost Ship of Fools or Stool Pigeons
By Tony Hill, Jeff Horton, Dan Prueher, Gary Smithback
Directed by Tony Hill
Ole, Lena and their Stoughton buddies have turned a simple arts and crafts show experience into a plot of international and historical calamity. Is the stool made from centuries-old wood really an antique or a hoax of idiotic origin? This year’s production also involves: a peek into the writing of this show (sort of) including videos of ideas that were cast aside; a scene from The Antiques Road Show; and the most ridiculous courtroom scene ever with overly-earnest FBI agents, clueless Viking re-enactors, confused citizens and multiple defendants. As always, the laughs are on ourselves as Stoughton, Norwegian ancestry, small towns in general, the Midwest and undeservedly-confident people all come under fire. Most shows sell out so those considering attending are advised to get tickets early and get there well before the listed start time.
