Jesusland
By David Starkey
Directed by Jeremy Thomas Poulsen
Imagine living in a country ruled by religious fanatics.
Imagine your personal life being controlled by those who value THEIR God over YOUR life.
Imagine your personal freedoms being drained away.
Imagine this wasn't already happening....
The United States of Jesusland does not want you to see this play.
StageQ presents a staged reading of "Jesusland" A fictional story, we hope...
With Sarah Whelan, Louise Stout, Ken Adams, Jennifer Pluff, Kent Walker and John Gustafson, directed by Jeremy Thomas Poulsen.
After the 2004 election, a map on the Internet showed the blue states attached to the United States of Canada. The red states were renamed "Jesusland." David Starkey's play, Jesusland, explores what would happen if that map became reality, focusing on the lives of two families divided by the split.
StageQ is considering JESUSLAND for our 2006-2007. After the reading, you are invited to stay for a discussion of the show and to offer your insights and feedback.
Produced by StageQ at Bartell Theater, 113 E Mifflin Street
