This musical?s comical plot not only pokes good-natured fun at the Royal Navy and parliamentary politics but also reveals a love story between members of different social classes. A middle-class naval captain?s daughter, who is sought by the ?Ruler of the Queen?s Navy,? instead pledges her love to a lower-class sailor?much to her father?s chagrin! An unexpected, dramatic twist allows the two-act musical to end happily for all characters.
