Hamlet
By William Shakespeare
Directed by The Company
The newly founded, underground, independent theatre company Quick & Dead Productions has emerged out of the woodwork with their first production, a performance of one of the greatest plays ever written: Hamlet, by William Shakespeare. The focus of the production has been to illuminate the play's true potential, by exploring its ideas and themes in a light not often seen done by Mel Gibson, or Kenneth Branagh, by viewing them through the lens of adolescents, and young adults, which, after all, are groupings Hamlet himself could easily identify with.
With a cast of only eight actors, the pure intimacy of Shakespeare's work has been revealed, with the help of the principles of such theatrical revolutionaries as Peter Brook, and Antonin Artaud, the ones who first championed the "theatre of cruelty".
A riveting night is guaranteed for all.
We hope to see you there...
