Halloween Walk & Toddler Costume Parade 2006

SpotLight On Kids & footlights productions and Rotary Gardens present the annual outdoor Halloween Walk and Toddler Costume Parade. While being guided through the jack-o-lantern lit Gardens, audiences will be entertained with tales of fun, fright, and fall. Aimed to educate and entertain, not scare, the stories will intrigue both adults and students alike. Directed by SpotLight on Kids board member Kimberly Blanchette, the story-tellers include adults and youth from the Janesville area.

A new addition to the 2006 Halloween Walk is a Halloween Costume Sale FUNdraiser for SpotLight on Kids & footlights productions. SOK costumes of past productions, various accessories, and donated items will be on sale in the Education Center at Rotary Gardens during the hours of the Halloween Walk. People interested in donating Halloween costumes to the sale may drop them off at the SpotLight on Kids studio in Olde Towne Mall. SpotLight On Kids is also looking for dedicated individuals to donate their time in order to help staff the Halloween Walk. Opportunities include making baked goods for concession sales, guiding groups through the Gardens as a Night Watcher, selling concessions/merchandise, and helping with pre-show publicity. Halloween Walk performances for school age children and adults will be Thursday-Saturday, October 19-21 from 6:00-8:30 pm. Tickets will be sold from 5:45-8:00 pm. A Toddler Costume Parade, along with stories for small children and babes-in-arms, will be Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 pm. Tickets for the Parade will be sold from 1:45-3:00 pm, with the costume parade beginning at 2:00 pm. Audience members are invited to come dressed in costume. Palm-reading, face-painting, tarot card readings, magic tricks, and refreshments will be available for purchase in the Sunken Garden.
