HAIRSPRAY began as the John Waters film featuring Ricki Lake, Blondie, and Divine evolving into a Broadway sensation with Tony Award-Winning Harvey Feirstein and finally a hit musical film starring John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer. It tells the story of Tracy Turnblad, a large-sized teenage girl, who propels the city of Baltimore in 1962 into a new era of understanding as she seeks her dream and her true love on the American Bandstand twin “The Corny Collins Show.” Followed by a hilarious cast of characters who accompany her in this exciting and comical adventure told through big songs and dances, the show is loaded with nostalgic sixties-style hits and thrilling choreography.
