8/28/2018Calling all Yoopers, deer hunters and people who’d like to play them on stage. Redbud Players in Columbus will hold auditions for the comedy “Escanaba in da Moonlight” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 27 and 28 in the Columbus Public Library Annex, located at 251 W. James St.
The script calls for a cast of five men and one woman. Characters include 35-year-old Reuban Soady (who bears the dubious distinction of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to have bagged a buck), his father Albert, his brother Remnar, and his wife Wolf Moon Dance, as well as a family friend and a ranger.
The play will be staged the first two weekends in November.
