Circa 1922. When two frustrated London housewives (Lotty and Rose) decide to rent a villa in Italy for a holiday away from their bleak marriages, they recruit two very different English women to share the cost and the experience. There, among the wisteria blossoms and the Mediterranean sunshine, these ladies bloom again and discover that, despite their differences, they have something in common as they are transformed through their friendships with each other and the renewal and introductions of love.
