Columbus Red Bud Players are producing Dearly Departed, a comedy by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones, under the direction of Jan Levine Thal. This delightful drop-dead comedy follows the Turpin family as they prepare for the funeral of the family patriarch, proving each step of the way that living and dying are seldom tidy and often hilarious. The smart direction of Ms. Thal (artistic director, Kathie Rasmussen Women’s Theatre) combined with a cast of veteran community theater performers from age 14 to “not telling,” is the perfect formula for a night of irreverent humor. This performance is appropriate for all ages, though best for teens and adults. Performances at the Columbus Senior Center, 125 N. Dickason Blvd, Columbus, WI 53925 on February 10, 11, 17, 18 at 7:30 pm and February 19 at 2:00 pm.
