Cinderella
By Bruce Bradley
Directed by Bruce Bradley
Most Christmas traditions in America originated in Europe, but one specifically English tradition, called pantomime, never really made it across the Atlantic. A pantomime is usually based on a fairy tale, and Bradley has chosen Cinderella as the basis for his play. "But it isn't just a retelling of the classic story," he points out. "In panto, contemporary references are injected into the traditional storyline. It's not unusual to hear jokes about pop stars or politicians."
