Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
By Tennessee Williams
Directed by Jeff Knupp
Unaware that he is dying of cancer, disturbed by the childless marriage of his favored alcoholic son, Brick, Big Daddy Pollitt, brings his family together to celebrate his 65th birthday.
Brick's beautiful wife, Maggie unable to lure her husband away from the bottle, swings wildly between seduction and taunts about his obsession with his deceased best friend Skipper. Let Stroller’s Theatre heat up your cold winter nights with this classic, steamy drama - by one of the greatest playwrights of all time.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Tennessee Williams's third significant play was a huge commercial success, running for 694 performances on Broadway. It won Williams his third New York Drama Critics' Circle Award and his second Pulitzer Prize (his first being for A Streetcar Named Desire).
Running on the Evjue stage, the tension between Brick, Maggie, Big Daddy and the whole clan, including the “endless line of no-neck monsters,” will be palpable.
