Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Tennessee Williams's third significant play was a huge commercial success, running for 694 performances on Broadway. It won Williams his third New York Drama Critics' Circle Award and his second Pulitzer Prize (his first being for A Streetcar Named Desire).

Running on the Evjue stage, the tension between Brick, Maggie, Big Daddy and the whole clan, including the “endless line of no-neck monsters,” will be palpable.

Auditions

Auditions will be held on the following days:

Monday, October 1st and
Tuesday, October 2nd

If necessary, call-backs will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd.

Those auditioning will be asked to read from the Dramatists Play Service edition of the script. There are parts for three women and five men. Please refer to the script for a part appropriate to your age. Due to the time period of the play there will be no cross-gender casting of the Reverend and Doctor. Be prepared to read for your audition in a Southern accent.

There are also parts for two boys and two girls, elementary and middle school age. Children should come to the auditions with a parent or another responsible adult, and be prepared to answer some questions and sing a song such as "Happy Birthday" . We'll try to keep most of the children's rehearsals early in the evening until we load in.

Rehearsals will run from 7:00 until 10:00 P.M., Mondays through Fridays, starting in early to mid-November. There will also be appropriate time off around the holidays.
