Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson
By Book by Alex Timbers, Music and Lyrics by Michael Friedman
Directed by Directed by Meghan Randolph, Music Direction by Patrick Christians, Choreography by Jayme Shimooka
Andrew Jackson was an extraordinarily complicated person with a remarkable rise to power. When not waging wars on the British or "rehoming" the Indians, Jackson wed himself to an already married woman, got shot in a duel and still won, had an assassination attempt made on him where the would be assassin ended up in the hospital, threw wild parties at the White House and ultimately became the founder of the democratic party.
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson holds a contemporary lens to Jackson's unconventional political career and life. With its unique structure, hilarious interpretations and rollicking rock music, it's one of Broadway's most innovative products of the 21st century.
