Beyond The Ingenue

Women in musical theatre deserve better stories.
After nine performances at local libraries, schools, and senior centers, Music Theatre of Madison brings this powerful revue to the Brink Lounge. 15 songs tell tales of women dealing with the unique challenges of being female-identified: Sisterhood, motherhood, self-image, abuse, aging, discrimination, and "having it all" come to light through musical theatre songs from familiar shows like WAITRESS, 9 TO 5, and THE COLOR PURPLE, as well as lesser-known gems like GREY GARDENS, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, THE DANGER YEAR, and more. Insecurities, struggles, triumphs, and the varied stories of the life of women are told through this one-of-a-kind, MTM-curated night to remember.
Two performances only!
