A View from the Bridge
By Arthur Miller
Directed by John Baiocchi
Arthur Miller's classic American tragedy explores love, obsession, and betrayal. Longshoreman Eddie Carbone and his wife Beatrice live with their niece in Red Hook, on the seaward side of the Brooklyn Bridge. They agree to shelter two of Beatrice's relatives, brothers Marco and Rodolpho, who are illegal immigrants from Sicily. Marco sends every dime he earns back to his family in Italy, but the single Rodolpho seems more intent on staying around. When Catherine and Rodolpho strike up a romance, the too-protective and too-attached Eddie vows to keep them apart however he can.
