Are We Delicious? Double Delicious

Why do a single, absolutely insane, everything-in-one-week show, when you can do two at once? Are We Delicious? presents Double Delicious, their 22nd (and also 23rd) show written, rehearsed and premiered in a single week. Drawing at random, the two ensembles of Madison performer/writers will write short plays for each other to act. Working together in a deliberate crisis situation, the writer/actors will work for seven straight days to create two original shows packed full off...WHO KNOWS?, they don’t start writing until May 2nd.

Every Delicious is like a box of chocolates, and by that measure, Double Delicious will have two full layers of chewy goodness: Act 1 is an ensemble of Madison performers and comedians who join the show through trying out. Act 2 is an invited ensemble of Delicious veterans lead by Matt Sloan and Kelly Maxwell, who have each written and acted over 10 times for Delicious.

The Act 2 ensemble includes Matt Sloan, Kelly Maxwell, Jess Schuknecht, Doug Reed, Deborah Hearst, and Catherine Capellaro.

Running time: two hours including intermission

Are We Delicious? is an ensemble of Madison writer/performers who conceive, write, rehearse and perform an original show of humor and heart in seven days. Everyone writes, everyone acts and no one can rest until the final curtain.

Double Delicious, like the previous 21 Delicious shows, will be created and performed by a supportive ensemble of individuals who all write and all act. Delicious is a deliberate crisis experience where you and everyone with you conquer a different challenge every day. Writing a short play is probably the greatest challenge, but have no fear, over half of the 80 people who have done the show had never written a play before Delicious. It's a whirlwind experience that will upend your conception of your creative potential.

Are We Delicious? Double Delicious will feature two Delicious ensembles, one performing as Act 1, the other as Act 2. This audition is for the Act 1 ensemble and will be designed and directed by Dana Pellebon. Act 2 will be designed by Matt Sloan and directed by Tony Trout with an invited ensemble.

If you've seen Delicious and wanted to give it a try, if you've done Delicious and want to do it again, if you've never HEARD of the thing, we encourage you to come to the audition. The audition itself is creative and fun and we guarantee you'll have a good time.
