Antony and Cleopatra
By William Shakespeare
Directed by John Varda
With the whole of the ancient Mediterranean world as their backdrop, Antony and Cleopatra, the First Man in Rome and the Queen of Egypt, fall in love. Too long do they gaze into each other's eyes, taking actions that are too little too late, as a vast empire and a royal realm slip from their grasp.
This production will be presented in the Roman/Egyptian period.
All performances will take place outdoors at Breese Stevens Field, built in 1926 in the Mediterranean Revival style.
Breese Stevens Field is conveniently located on E. Washington Ave. and N. Patterson St. It contains several locker rooms, each with sinks, toilets, showers, benches, mirrors, electricity and numerous clothing hooks. There is also a separate "green room" area. There are separate rest rooms for the public.
AUDIENCE SEATING - BYO Chair!
Audience seating is located under the covered roof at the west end of the facility. Several cement tiers can accommodate hundreds of portable chairs, which each audience member must bring!
FOOD AND DRINKS are welcome in the audience seating area but alcohol and glass containers are prohibited. Food carts will be present on the west side of Patterson Street from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. before each performance. Audience food item tidy up will be appreciated.
