A Don't Hug Me Christmas Carol
By Phil & Paul Olson
Directed by Bryan Quinn
In a sequel to last year's successful show, "Don't Hug Me", this musical comedy, set in the Northwoods of Minnesota, revolves around the lives of the denizens of a local watering hole called "The Bunyan". It's Christmas Eve, and bar owners Gunner and Clara are having an argument. Gunner storms out to take a snowmobile ride across frozen Bunyan Bay. While out he crashes through the ice and falls into a coma. While in the coma, he is visited by the spirit of local singing sensation Sven Jorgensen, who, in a nod to Charles Dickens' immortal classic, "A Christmas Carol", portrays all of the spirits of Christmas and shows Gunner what the holidays would be like without him. Joining the fun are Kanute, a local blow-hard, and his ex-fiance Bernice, who fancies herself a lounge singer. There are songs like, "The Christmas Cheese Polka", "I Love You More Than Football", and "I'd Rather Be Naughty". For patrons wishing a meal with their night at the theater, special dinner options will be available prior to the show.
