
Madison Community Montessori Fine Arts Camp
Madison Community Montessori Fine Arts Camps will bring the excitement, refinement, and quality of programming that any young, creative spirit will enjoy. Under the guidance of Director and Theatre Educator, Leigh Birmingham, children ages 6-14 will have the opportunity to spend 8:00am until 4:00pm each day learning the art of theatre and drama, and be immersed in mixed media arts, such as pottery, oil painting and sketching.
The Jungle Book— June 22 – July 10, 2015
The final performance will be held during the evening hours on July 9 at a location TBD.
The plot follows Mowgli, a feral child raised in the Indian jungle by wolves as his friends Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear try to convince him into leaving the jungle before the evil tiger Shere Khan arrives. No prior theater experience required.
Mixed Media Arts: July 13- July 24, 2015
Focusing on mixed media artwork with an emphasis in pottery, this 2-week session will include a variety of art forms such as mask-making, fabric work, cartooning, and animation.
Treasure Island: The Musical—a play by Stephen Kingsbury: July 27- Aug. 14, 2015
The final performance will be held during the evening hours on Aug. 13 at a location TBD.
Treasure Island follows the adventures of young Jim Hawkins who sails the seas with Long John Silver in a quest to find buried treasure. No prior theater or singing experience required.
