Madison Contra Dance

Contra dances are held every Tuesday night, except election nights, at the Gates of Heaven Synagogue in James Madison Park, 302 E. Gorham, Madison, WI. We dance from ~7:30-9:30 PM. No partner or experience necessary; you will be able to step right in and join the dancing. Please bring (comfortable) shoes with clean soles to preserve our fine wooden dance floor. You may wish to dress in layers; you will warm up, even in the middle of winter. If you are a caller, you are welcome to call a dance or two; if you are a musician, you are welcome to join the band. Donation $5 ($3 for students).

Contra dances are also held on the third Saturday of each month from October through May, at Grace Episcopal Church, 116 W. Washington, Madison, WI. These dances run from 8:00-11:00 PM, with an introductory instruction session at 7:30.
