Founded in 1994, the Connolly Dance Company (CDC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering its fresh, innovative choreography in concert to the widest audience possible. The company currently maintains a repertoire of 24 original works, 6 with commissioned scores. The CDC has appeared in New York City at the Joyce Soho St. Mark's Church, the Here Arts Center and The Kitchen as well as in Brooklyn at the Gowanus Arts Exchange. The Connolly Dance Company has performed for thousands at colleges, universities, and theaters throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Arkansas, and Washington. Recent performances include the Moreau Center for the Arts at Saint Mary’s College/Notre Dame, Ethnic Expo, Columbus, Indiana, the Hennepin Center for the Arts in Minneapolis, and for the last five seasons at the Peninsula Dance Festival in Door County, Wisconsin.
Connolly Dance Company presents educational programs for groups of all ages, primarily throughout the Midwest. Recent residencies include Third Avenue Playhouse, Sturgeon Bay, WI, UW-Whitewater, Dance Partners in Columbus, Indiana, Shattuck St. Mary's in Minnesota and the Edmonds School District in Seattle. Recent workshops include Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra Kid's Corner, Madison, WI, Monona Terrace Special Events, Madison, WI, and Morton Community Center, West Lafayette, IN. The company is committed to educational community outreach and continually presents lecture demonstrations and master classes in conjunction with performances.
Connolly Dance Company’s performance and outreach has been supported by the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission, the Madison Community Foundation, the Madison Civic Center and Madison Civic Center Foundation, the Madison CitiARTS Commission, and the Wisconsin Arts Board.
